Belize
pristine beaches, jungle adventures and Garifuna culture
While Hopkins might not be your typical Caribbean getaway, this quiet village has so much to offer. It’s one of Belize’s Garinagu culture hub. Hopkins is the perfect place to get in touch with the locals and learn about their unique heritage. Hopkins comes to live for Mango fest in June and Garifuna settlement day on November 19th. You’ll be able to listen to typical drumming everywhere!
Our personal paradise. Home to only about 20 permanent residents, the tiny island offers travelers (on a budget) to live the Caribbean life. Friendly inhabitants, incredible turquoise waters, snorkeling, and diving, are just some of the fun things you do on Tobacco Caye!
Caye Caulker is without a doubt Belize’s backpacking hotspot! It’s usually the first stop when coming from Mexico. Caye Caulker offers exciting snorkeling opportunities (shark alley), diving, plenty of restaurants and some nightlife. It’s a super fun island and the perfect place to ease into Belize!
The vibrant town of San Ignacio is probably the first stop for all travelers arriving from Guatemala. Located along the Macal River, the city offers many things to do. Tube along the river, shop at the vibrant markets, hike, or visit Acton Tunichil Muknal. San Ignacio is really entertaining and exciting!
We passed Copan’s ruins on our way from El Salvador to Belize! Each central American Maya site is impressive in its own way. Copan Ruinas are not as popular as other Maya temples. Hence you’ll often have the ruins to yourself. The town of Copán is delightful. There are plenty of things to do, too!
