Nemasu was the first eco-lodge we visited after our busy days in Kololi. Only 20 minutes further South, the Gambia shows its relaxed face. We exited the main street shortly after Gunjur and after a bumpy road reached Medina Salam. We liked the village from the first sight and were excited as we followed the sun, the Nemasu sign.
After a warm welcome, we were guides to our bungalows. We loved of vast the resort grounds were and how perfectly the cabins fit in the lush green vegetation. As Nemasu lodge did a lot of planting we felt like we ended up in a jungle location!
What we loved about staying at Nemasu Eco-Lodge?
The effort which was undertaken to make eco-friendly traveling possible. Upon the welcome we were guided to our charming bungalow and were excited to find a lot of information about Nemasu’s effort to protect the environment.
We loved how perfectly our bungalow would blend in with the lush green surrounding and the feeling of exclusiveness and secludedness our bungalow provided.
Nemasu’s location is superb! Right by the beach, nestled between the tropical vegetation, the lodge is only 20 minutes by foot from Gunjur, 10 minutes by car from Kartong and 10 minutes by foot from Medina Salam!
The effort undertaken by the owners Hillary and Greg to benefit nit just their employees but also the entire village of Madina Salam!
The variety of tours and activities is sheer endless and provides visitors with the possibility to get to know the Gambia beyond the usual tours. The tour offerings in hand selected and focuses on cultural tours which involve the local community. Palm Tapper Jungle experience for example introduces you to the long tradition of palm-wine making and the local tribes!
