Now that I am hooked on the convertible backpacks with wheels<\/a>, I also wanted to share my thoughts on the two current top contenders on the market: Osprey’s travel backpacks with wheels: the Farpoint\u00a0 and the Sojourn . <\/span><\/p>\n

As I could find little information on the Osprey Sojourn vs Farpoint, I will share my experiences and insights on these two unique backpacks in this blog post.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Design<\/span><\/h3>\n

Both the Farpoint wheeled and Sojourn wheeled come in sleek, modern designs. The Farpoint features a more rectangular shape with clean lines, while the Sojourn has a slightly more curved design. Both backpacks are made from high-quality materials and exude durability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Size Matters<\/span><\/h3>\n

As someone who loves to travel light, I was immediately drawn to the compact size of the Farpoint 36l wheeled and the Sojourn wheeled 40l. The Farpoint measures at 22″ x 14″ x 9″, making it a perfect carry-on size for most airlines. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Sojourn, on the other hand, is slightly larger at 22″ x 15″ x 8″. While it may not fit in stricter carry-on size restrictions, it still offers plenty of storage space for a week-long trip.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The next bigger options:<\/span><\/p>\n

In the bigger sizes, the Farpoint offers 5 L more volume than the Sojourn. Farpoint has 65 l capacity while the Sojourn allows for only 60 liters.<\/span><\/p>\n

Peso: \u00bfqu\u00e9 modelo es m\u00e1s ligero? <\/span><\/h3>\n

Cuando se trata de viajar, cada kilo cuenta. Por eso me sorprendi\u00f3 gratamente descubrir que la Farpoint de 36l con ruedas es m\u00e1s ligera que la Sojourn de 40l con ruedas, aproximadamente medio kilo<\/strong>. Puede que no parezca mucho, pero cuando est\u00e1s cargando con la mochila durante horas y horas, cada gramo ahorrado marca la diferencia.<\/span><\/p>\n

La Farpoint pesa s\u00f3lo 2,5 kg cuando su volumen de carga es de 65 L, mientras que el tama\u00f1o mayor de la Sojourn (60 L) pesa 2,5 kg. <\/span><\/p>\n

Distribuci\u00f3n del peso y comodidad<\/span><\/h3>\n

Una de las caracter\u00edsticas clave de estas mochilas es su capacidad para distribuir el peso uniformemente, lo que las hace c\u00f3modas para llevarlas durante largas horas. <\/span><\/p>\n

La Sojourn tiene un armaz\u00f3n de aluminio ligero que ayuda a distribuir la carga. Como puedes ver en la foto, la Sojourn es mucho m\u00e1s ancha que la Farpint.<\/span><\/p>\n

He descubierto que el Farepint distribuye el peso de forma ligeramente mejor. El Farpoint con ruedas de 36l y el Sojourn con ruedas de 40l pueden ser versiones m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as de sus hom\u00f3logos m\u00e1s grandes, pero siguen ofreciendo mucho espacio de almacenamiento. La Sojourn tiene un espacioso compartimento principal con correas de compresi\u00f3n internas para mantener todo en su sitio. Tambi\u00e9n tiene un bolsillo frontal y un bolsillo superior m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o para objetos de acceso r\u00e1pido. La Farpoint tiene una configuraci\u00f3n similar, pero ofrece espacio de almacenamiento adicional con su mochila desmontable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Capacidad de almacenamiento:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Una diferencia importante entre estas dos mochilas es su capacidad de almacenamiento. Aunque ambos tienen tama\u00f1o de equipaje de mano, con unas dimensiones de las ruedas de 21,3 x 13,8 x 9 pulgadas, el Farpoint s\u00f3lo tiene una capacidad de 36 litros, mientras que el Soujourn tiene una capacidad mayor, de 40 litros. Confort y comodidad<\/span><\/h3>\n

Una de las principales razones por las que cambi\u00e9 a una mochila con ruedas fue por la comodidad a\u00f1adida. Tanto la Farpoint de 36l con ruedas como la Sojourn de 40l con ruedas incorporan asas telesc\u00f3picas resistentes y ruedas de deslizamiento suave que facilitan las maniobras por aeropuertos y calles. Tambi\u00e9n tienen tirantes c\u00f3modos y acolchados para cuando necesito llevar la mochila a la espalda.<\/span><\/p>\n

Facilidad para pon\u00e9rtelo en la espalda:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Ambos modelos son relativamente f\u00e1ciles de convertir en mochila. El proceso de pon\u00e9rmelo en la espalda me resulta m\u00e1s c\u00f3modo con el Farpoint. A pesar de que ambos modelos tienen correas acolchadas, las de la Farpoint son un poco m\u00e1s anchas y m\u00e1s c\u00f3modas para mis hombros. Sin embargo, la Soujourn se siente m\u00e1s estable y segura una vez a mi espalda, gracias a su cintur\u00f3n de cadera adicional.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maniobrabilidad:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Uno de los principales puntos de venta de estas mochilas son sus ruedas, y ambos modelos tienen ruedas robustas y de rodaje suave que hacen que desplazarse por aeropuertos concurridos o por las calles de la ciudad sea coser y cantar. Las ruedas de la Sojourn me parecieron un poco m\u00e1s suaves y silenciosas que las de la Farpoint, pero en general, ambas funcionan bien. Gracias al mayor tama\u00f1o de las ruedas, la Osprey Sojourn es m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil de maniobrar en terrenos irregulares. La doble asa hace que la Sojourn sea mucho m\u00e1s robusta cuando se desplaza sobre ruedas. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Cuando las lleves como mochila<\/span><\/h3>\n

Al convertir la Sojourn y la Farpoint en mochila, la Sojourn es un poco m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil de convertir.<\/p>\n

La Farpoint es ligeramente m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil de colocar en la espalda que la Sojourn. <\/p>\n

Sin embargo, siento que la Sojourn es m\u00e1s c\u00f3moda cuando la llevo durante 20 minutos o m\u00e1s, ya que parece adaptarse mejor a mi tipo de cuerpo. <\/p>\n

Utilizo la Osprey Sojourn 60 L como equipaje de viaje principal cuando viajo m\u00e1s de 2 semanas. Tengo la mochila con ruedas Farpoint en la versi\u00f3n de 36 litros para viajes de menos de dos semanas. Me da la libertad de una mochila y la comodidad de una maleta, a la vez que se ajusta a la mayor\u00eda de las restricciones del equipaje de mano.<\/p>\n
