Head’s up Bee’s Mouth was our favorite stay in The Gambia! Named after the bar where the owners Nicky and Solomon first met, Bee’s Mouth is unlike its name may suggest a quiet oasis right on one of Gambia’s most beautiful beaches.
Three wooden cabins sitting right on the beach offer a magnificent view over the sunset. The traditional tipis cater to more budget-minded travelers. As the cabins were already booked, we decided to stay in a Tipi and ended up being literal “happy campers.” The traditional tents did not only allow for great airflow but provided us with a glimpse of the starry sky.
The owners Nicky and Solomon were terrific, and for the first time in the Gambia, we felt like we have found a home. Everything is constructed and laid out in such a thoughtful matter. Also, Nick and Solomon have a great understanding of the Gambia, its chances, and its difficulties. Their sharp observations and love for their country helped us understand a bit better.
Bee’s Mouth has THE location. It is sitting right at the end of one of Gambia’s most beautiful beaches, which makes it the perfect place to relax. The village is only a 10 minutes walk on the beach away. On the way, you’ll find other hotels with restaurants and some bars. But because Bee’s Mouth is located right at the end, you’ll don’t have to worry about bumsters.
Bee’s Mouth radiates good vibes, peacefulness, and love. Everything is done and constructed with so much thought and attention to detail. The rooms and Tipis are so comfortable, but you’ll also find spacious hang-out areas to socialite as well as quiet secluded spots to chill by yourself and enjoy nature!
